As a member of the Olympic Education Commission, Professor Stephan Wassong participated in the IOC Fit for the Future Consultation Commission Event, which took place from 3 to 5 November 2025 at the Olympic House in Lausanne.

On 3 November, Professor Wassong was received for a personal audience by Mr. ChristopheDe Kepper, Director General of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for a constructive exchange concerning the evolving profile of the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee (IPCC) and its wide-ranging historical and educational endeavours.

Mr. De Kepper expressed his sincere interest in the IPCC’s strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the work of the National Pierre de Coubertin Committees and the Pierre de Coubertin Schools. He commended the IPCC’s efforts to enhance the contemporary relevance of Pierre de Coubertin’s principles of Olympism, acknowledging the committee’s progressive and forward-looking agenda.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Wassong presented Mr. De Kepper with the IPCC’s Coubertin Medal, expressing his gratitude for the IOC’s longstanding and valuable support of the Committee’s mission.
