African Pierre de Coubertin Youth Forum
On the occasion of Nelson Mandela’s 100th anniversary of birth, the CIPC wanted to provide more African students the unique chance to live and experiment the values such as mutual respect and international friendship. Thus, the idea of a first African Pierre de Coubertin Youth Forum was born.

The IOC officially declared the year 2013 as Pierre de Coubertin Year, honouring Pierre de Coubertin’s works as founder of the modern Olympic Movement, as a pedagogue, who was convinced of the importance of sport in the development of youth, and as an enthusiastic promoter of the Olympic values.
