Several CIPC members have been appointed to the IOC Commissions in 2019. The IOC President Thomas Bach appointed once more Prof. Stephan Wassong, Prof. Kostas Georgiadis and Helen Brownlee on the Olympic Education Commission; Prof. Dr. Norbert Müller and Alexandra de Navacelle Zolidis (Pierre de Coubertin Family Association) on the Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission. This decision confirms a strong desire of the IOC to strengthen a modern reading of Pierre de Coubertin`s Olympic thoughts and to stress their importance in our society today.
