Brazilian Pierre de Coubertin Committee is organizing an Olympic Studies Forum 2019 together with the Federal University of Sergipe and the Group of Olympic and Paralympic Studies. The Forum will take place on 2 and 3 September 2019 in São Cristóvão, SE, Brazil.

It will bring together scholars and researchers from the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.

The objective is to preserve the legacies of remarkable sports events held in Brazil as well as to debate on recently held Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires in 2018 and the next Olympic and Paralympic Games to take place in Tokyo 2020.

The main topics of the programme are:

  • Challenges and Prospects for 2020 of the Olympic and Paralympic Sport;
  • The new sports cycle in Brazil;
  • Innovation and Technology applied to sport;
  • Pierre de Coubertin: before and now;
  • The construction of Public Policies and the Olympic and Paralympic Movement: Challenges;
  • 20 Years of the Book Olympic Studies;
  • The Post-Graduation Programs in Olympic Studies;
  • Perspective of Scientific Production in the Olympic and Paralympic Field.
