The CIPC President, Prof. Dr. Stephan WASSONG, visited the newly inaugurated Japan Olympic Museum (JOM) in Tokyo and actively participated at the ‘Coubertin Forum 2020’organized by the Japanese Olympic Committee. President WASSONG gave two lectures: ‘Pierre de Coubertin and the Athlete at the Heart of the Olympic Movement’, and ‘A Contemporary Application of Pierre de Coubertin’s ideas by the Olympic Movement’.

The Vice-President of the Japanese Olympic Committee addressed the Forum by thanking and complimenting the work of the CIPC.

On this occasion Dr. Junko TAHARA, CIPC Vice-President, gave a lecture entitled ‘Toward the Creation of the Japan Pierre de Coubertin Prize-Examples of Overseas Prizes’. In parallel, President WASSONG visited a Special Exhibit which the CIPC helped to organize and which the Museum offers to Japanese citizens as an introduction to the history of the Olympic Movement. The exhibit is entitled ‘Explore the origins of Olympism: Coubertin’s Words and Thoughts’.
