The Indian Olympic Association and its newly founded Committee on Olympic Education has organized an interesting virtual conference on theories and concepts of Olympic Education. Prof. Dr. Stephan Wassong has been invited to open the conference with a longer lecture. Actually, Professor Wassong took over an institutional double role as he was asked to present the Olympic Studies Center of the German Sport University Cologne, which he is leading as Director, and as President of the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee. These two roles are reflected in the title of his lecture Olympic Education and its “Academic Factories”: The Olympic Studies Center of the German Sport University Cologne and the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee. The opening lecture of Prof. Wassong and all the following sessions were streamed exclusively on 1 Play Sports Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Helo.
