1st African Pierre de Coubertin Youth Forum

The CIPC will organize this forum in collaboration with the Foundation Sport, Development and Peace based in Cape Town, South Africa, to honour the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela in 2018. The core aim of the Forum is to provide a platform for African youth acknowledging the ideals of Pierre de Coubertin and Nelson Mandela. The Forum will take place from 15th to 21st September in the Western Cape.  The CIPC will welcome 60 young participants (age 16 -18) from various provinces of South Africa and its neighbouring countries including Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. The CIPC will cover accommodation and travel costs. Beside educational sessions on Olympic Values and Olympic Education, the participants will have the opportunity to follow the activities at the 5th International Sport and Peace Conference taking place from 19th to 20th September 2018, also in Cape Town.
