The inaugural meeting of Japanese Pierre de Coubertin Committee (CJPC) was held on 4thAugust 2019 at Chukyo University in Nagoya. CJPC was established in 2007 at first as a sub committee for research of Pierre de Coubertin within the Japanese Olympic Academy, and this time CJPC has restarted as an independent organization. Seventeen people gathered in the organization meeting from various parts of Japan.

Prof. Dr. Stephan Wassong, President of International Pierre de Coubertin Committee (CIPC), delivered a congratulatory speech through video, and Mr. Yosuke Fujiwara, Vice-President of Japan Olympic Academy, also offered his congratulations.

Ongoingly Shigeo Shimizu, professor emeritus at the University of Kobe and leading expert on research of Pierre de Coubertin in Japan, gave a lecture on Pierre de Coubertin and his time. The new logo of CJPC was unveiled. Activities of CJPC in the past and plan for the future were introduced. The new CJPC is expected to promote research on Pierre de Coubertin, spread Olympism and educational activities based-on them more than ever, in working in collaboration with other related organizations.
