The International Pierre de Coubertin Committee and all its members are celebrating today Olympism and the 127th Anniversary of the Olympic Movement.

Our greetings go to the athletes of the World who are getting ready to compete at the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo in a few weeks.

Our gratitude goes to the authorities and the people of Japan who have done their utmost to make the Olympic Games possible in the most unpredictable and difficult circumstances.

To bring the origins of the Modern Olympic Games closer to Japanese people the IPCC has worked on two projects both dedicated to Pierre de Coubertin, father of the Modern Olympic Games.

A virtual Exposition “Pierre de Coubertin and the Arts” will be made available on the internet in several languages, Japanese included.

An e-book entitled “Pierre de Coubertin the Visionary” has been translated into Japanese language and will also be available before the Olympic Games start.

Our best wishes of success to the athletes of the World!

Our heartful thanks to the authorities of Japan for making this edition of the Olympic Games possible.
