This Congress was held from 16th to 18th October 2019 at the Paris Seine University, organized by the university`s sport faculty and one of its professors, Gilles Lecocq, was in charge. It received the patronage of the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee and the French Pierre de Coubertin Committee in its early stage of preparation in 2018.

The presidents of both institutions, Stephan Wassong and André Leclercq, delivered interesting speeches at the opening ceremony stressing the relevance of Coubertin`s thinking for today`s sport world and value driven sport education. Key note lectures, presentations and discussions focused on ethical, educational, social and historical aspects of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. The majority of the lectures addressed the 1964 and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as well as the Olympic event to take place in Paris in 2024. The CIPC was presented by Junko Tahara, Alexandra de Navacelle de Coubertin, André Leclercq, Bernard Ponceblanc, Koïchi Wada and Stephan Wassong. All our members made contributions by providing interesting lectures which stimulated fruitful discussions.
